About

Sup, I’m Elina, I’m 24, and I write about films and whatnot.

I’m a history grad student in the UK. I also love running, good food, dogs, and history memes. I’ve lived in a few different places & speak a couple different languages, all with an accent.

My all-time favourite films are Somewhere and Tracks, but these days I usually watch whatever’s good on Netflix. Here’s some stuff I’ve obsessed over, in no particular order:

  • Shameless (US)
  • Two and a Half Men
  • How I Met Your Mother
  • Master of None
  • Brooklyn Nine Nine
  • Marvel/Avengers
  • Supernatural
  • Parks and Recreation

Best post I’ve ever written, I believe, is That Special Tug. Worst film I recall seeing is Jupiter Ascending. So it goes. Thanks for stopping by & hope to see you back soon.

  8. I liked your review over at You Talkin’ To Me? for the blogathon. Good job!
And I’ll admit the name of this blog was enticing. I must have a coke any time I’m watching a movie. And an exorbitant amount of popcorn, otherwise it doesn’t feel like a valid movie-going experience.
Keep up the good work 🙂

    • Ooh, thank you so much! It was fun to write for them and I love the blogathon idea, too!

The name is also close to my heart (…you should see the pile of empty Coke cans and bottles I’ve hidden in my closet) and it’s a cinematic essential. 😉 Awesome to meet you and I’ll be checking your blog out after I get my eight (okay, six by now) hours in. 😀

  9. Wow! You have like the coolest header on a blog I’ve ever seen!
Pleased to make your acquaintance 🙂

  10. Thank for following my blog! Amazing blog by the way. Continue your great work. I’ll check on some of your reviews soon.

  11. Nice blog, lots of good movie stuff, really like it.

  12. Elina, your blog is beautiful! SO glad I stumbled upon it through another blogger (filmgrimoire). I relate to you so much!! And nice layout!

    • Oh my god!!!! I am blushing so much right now. Thank you so much, this is so kind of you! Anna’s blog is the bomb in my mind, I’m glad you know hers!

Honestly, I’m just humbled. Thank you for making my day!

  13. This is a great blog you have here! Consider me a fan 🙂

    Hi Elina,

would it be possible for you to review my indie feature ‘Little Pieces’? I appreciate you’re likely very busy and it may not be possible. We’re trying to raise the film’s profile by having it review on indie blogs and websites that cater to a more indie-cinema market.

We’ve been reviewed by three other sites so far who have all rated the film highly. Positive feedback has included that the film is ‘an ambitious first feature from a director who blatantly understands how to intelligently tell a cinematic story’ (Hannah McHaffie – Reel Insights) that ‘Captures the good and bad in all of us.’ (James Turner – Indyred.com) and ‘deserves your dedicated attention especially for its narrative and original approach to story telling. (Bianca Garner – Film Gods).

We can provide you with a press pack and an online screener of the film.

Hope to hear from you soon,

    Adam Nelson
    Director – Little Pieces.
